Tesla voice commands: the full list
Vessla understands eight kinds of spoken command for your Tesla: lock and unlock, climate, charging, navigation, find-my-car, trunk and frunk, lights and horn, and status checks. You speak naturally — “lock the car”, “set the climate to 21°”, “how much range do I have?” — and get one short spoken answer back.
Every command, with examples
| Command | What it does | Say something like |
|---|---|---|
| Lock & unlock | Locks or unlocks the doors. | “Lock the car” · “Unlock the doors” |
| Climate | Starts, stops, or sets cabin temperature. | “Set the climate to 21°” · “Turn on the AC” · “Warm up the car” |
| Charging | Starts or stops charging and sets a charge limit. | “Start charging to 80%” · “Stop charging” |
| Navigate | Sends a destination to the car's navigation. | “Navigate to Gothenburg” · “Take me home” |
| Find my car | Opens the car's parked location in your maps app. | “Where did I park?” · “Find my car” |
| Trunk & frunk | Opens the rear trunk or front trunk. | “Open the trunk” · “Open the frunk” |
| Lights & horn | Flashes the lights or sounds the horn to locate the car. | “Flash the lights” · “Honk the horn” |
| Status checks | Reads back range, charge, lock state, or climate. | “How much range do I have?” · “Is the car locked?” |
You don't have to memorise exact phrases
Vessla interprets natural language rather than matching a fixed script, so “warm up the car”, “turn the heating on”, and “set it to 21 degrees” all reach the climate controls. If a request is ambiguous or can't be carried out, Vessla tells you plainly rather than pretending it worked — a truthful “couldn't do that” beats a false confirmation.
Which cars understand these commands?
Any Tesla supported by Tesla's Fleet API — Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X. If the official Tesla app can control your car, Vessla can send it these commands. Have more than one car? Name the one you mean (“lock the Model Y”) or set a default.
What languages can I speak?
Voice works in 12 languages — English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and Polish — and Vessla replies in the language you set. Typed commands work in any language.
